RF Safe Launches “Ethical Connectivity Pledge,” Calls on Beast Mobile, Trump Mobile, and Celebrity Backed Wireless Plans to Lead the Light Age With Integrity

Public pledge urges creator-led mobile ventures to adopt child-first connectivity standards, invest in safer architectures, and stop externalizing the hidden costs of microwave-based networks onto children’s health.

RF Safe today announced the launch of the Ethical Connectivity Pledge, a public commitment framework designed for celebrity-backed and creator-branded wireless plans entering the market. The pledge challenges new mobile ventures—including Beast Mobile, Trump Mobile, and any other high-visibility wireless rebrands—to lead with integrity and moral conviction by prioritizing child safety, transparency, and investment in safer communications architectures, including light-based connectivity (Li-Fi) where feasible.

“Ethical sourcing should not stop at chocolate,” said RF Safe founder John Coates. “If a brand is willing to reform supply chains to protect children from exploitation, it must also be willing to reform connectivity—because the health costs of microwave-based wireless are being externalized onto kids. These celebrity-backed plans have cultural gravity. They can either normalize business-as-usual, or they can force an upgrade in the ethics of connectivity.”

A Moral Imperative for New Market Entrants

Creator-led mobile ventures arrive at a moment of intense attention on youth-targeted technology and family marketing. RF Safe argues that the next wave of high-profile wireless offerings must be judged not only by pricing and branding, but by whether they acknowledge and reduce plausible health risks—especially for children.

The Ethical Connectivity Pledge is built around seven commitments, including:

  • Child-first design standards that treat children as a unique exposure group

  • Transparency in marketing and risk communication (including avoiding “proven safe for kids” claims)

  • Science-aware precaution, recognizing that regulatory standards can lag behind scientific evidence

  • Safer architectures, including pilot programs and targeted deployment of Li-Fi and other lower-exposure solutions where feasible (especially indoors and in child-focused environments)

  • A refusal to scale “hidden harm,” where profit depends on costs being paid later by families and public health systems

“Stop Externalizing the Cost”

RF Safe’s press statement argues that wireless business models can reward rapid growth while deferring long-term costs—an economic pattern common in environmental and public health controversies.

“In too many industries, the profit is privatized and the harm is socialized,” Coates said. “With connectivity, the ‘true cost’ can land on children—through chronic exposure in the most sensitive years of development. If you are launching a phone plan under your name and marketing it to families, you inherit responsibility for what you scale.”

From Microwave Age to Light Age

RF Safe is also urging celebrity-backed mobile ventures to treat this moment as an opportunity to accelerate a national pivot toward a photonics-era communications economy, where safer, light-based systems complement or replace high-exposure environments—particularly indoors.

The organization contends that the United States can lead the “Light Age” by accelerating deployment of photonic infrastructure and incentivizing innovation in safer communication pathways for homes, schools, and child-focused devices.

“America should lead the photonics era,” Coates said. “If these new entrants claim they’re here to disrupt, then disrupt the part that actually matters—how we connect children without normalizing unnecessary biological risk.”

Public Signatories and Verification

The pledge is published as a public signatory page, allowing brands and organizations to sign and be listed after verification. RF Safe will publish signatories, including their stated tier of commitment (Supporter, Pilot, or Light-Age Leader), and encourage independent scrutiny of whether signers follow through with action.

Call to Action

RF Safe is calling on:

  • Beast Mobile, Trump Mobile, and any celebrity-branded wireless plans

  • Mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs) and carrier partners

  • Device brands and accessory makers marketing to children and families

to sign the pledge publicly and announce concrete steps toward child-first connectivity practices and safer architecture pilots.
