Overview

The study aimed to explore the morphophysiological responses of Phaseolus vulgaris L. when exposed to low-power electromagnetic radiation. This inquiry focused on identifying the potential adverse health effects resulting from chronic exposure conditions.

Methodology

  • Environmental Setup: The experiment involved two sets of Phaseolus vulgaris L. plants grown in EMF shielded, controlled environments akin to a greenhouse.
  • Exposure Details: One batch received continuous irradiation throughout its growth cycle using unmodulated 915 MHz signals, whereas the other acted as a reference group.
  • Intensity: Radiation had a maximum power density of 10 mW/m² near the specimens.

Findings

  • Growth Impact: Exposed plants displayed a 19% increase in height and a 20% increase in stem/leaves' dry mass.
