Abstract

Overview

The rapid development of new communication technologies like 5G and 6G necessitates advanced methodologies for evaluating potential health risks through Electromagnetic Field (EMF) exposure assessment.

Methodology

This paper introduces a pioneering methodology for the estimation of EMF in 5G mobile networks, which includes evaluating common scenarios encountered by mobile network operators. These scenarios often result in increased exposure due to factors such as interference, overpropagation, and the presence of other users.

Data Validation and Conclusion

  • The methodology is validated using a blend of simulated values and actual data gathered via sensors in the field.
  • A novel digital twin approach is suggested, merging the simulated estimates with real data from radio frequency sensors to enhance the robustness of the findings.
  • The application scenario is situated in Belval, Luxembourg, underscoring the practical implications of the research.
