Bret Weinstein & Heather Heying just spent an entire DarkHorse episode (317) pushing the most dangerous, cherry-picked disinformation on the NTP study yet — and they know it.

At 27:58 Bret literally says: “this weekend I pulled the wrong data… raw… I didn’t mean to say wrong. I’m sorry, Zane.”

He immediately corrects himself because even he knows it was the wrong data — the mouse survival curves (TR-596, doses starting at 2.5 W/kg, only equivocal/weak cancer hints). That slip was the most truthful sentence in the entire podcast.

Then they spin the whole episode into “radiation is good for you” hormesis, comparing it to exercise and chemo, while completely ignoring the actual NTP conclusions, the rats, the low-dose cancer peaks, the 2026 EPA paper that dropped days earlier, and the mechanism papers.

Let’s destroy this with the real data.

Mice vs. Rats — They Chose the Wrong Animal on Purpose

  • Mice (TR-596, 1900 MHz): Doses 2.5, 5, 10 W/kg. Only equivocal (weak, non-significant) cancer hints. Survival curves look “better” — that’s what Bret/Heather and Zane obsess over.
  • Rats (TR-595, 900 MHz): Doses 1.5, 3, 6 W/kg. Clear evidence of carcinogenic activity (malignant heart schwannomas in males) and some evidence (brain gliomas). Tumors peaked at the lowest dose (gliomas: 3 cases at 1.5 W/kg and 3 at 3 W/kg vs. only 2 at 6 W/kg).

1.5 W/kg is numerically identical to what real iPhones emit in simultaneous cellular + WiFi use (1.59 W/kg per FCC reports). Not “10–100× higher.” Phone-level.

The “lived longer” line? NTP states verbatim: less severe chronic progressive nephropathy (kidney disease) in controls. One organ got a minor reprieve. The animals didn’t live healthier — they died slower from kidney failure while gaining more tumors at everyday doses. That is the exact opposite of hormesis.

The Timing Is Damning

The Melnick & Moskowitz 2026 paper (Ronald Melnick = the guy who designed the NTP study) applied standard EPA benchmark-dose methods to this exact same raw data and concluded current limits are at least 200× too high for cancer and 24× too high for reproductive harm.

It dropped days before this episode. Bret and Heather never mention it. They never mention the rats. They never mention the non-monotonic low-dose cancer peaks. They never mention Ramazzini (same heart schwannomas significantly increased at 0.1 W/kg — order of magnitude lower).

Instead they spin survival curves from the wrong animal as “radiation is good for you” and mock anyone who takes precautions with AirPods.

The Mechanism They Ignored

Dimitris J. Panagopoulos 2025 (and Martin Pall’s VGCC work) shows exactly why low/chronic pulsed RF harms: the ELF geometry of phone signals (217 Hz TDMA bursts in GSM, code-spreading in CDMA) forces mistimed oscillations on the S4 voltage-sensor helix in voltage-gated calcium channels → massive Ca²⁺ influx → mitochondrial ROS feedback loop → oxidative stress → DNA damage → cancer promotion.

No heating required. Real-world intermittent exposure (calls, AirPods, pocket phones) keeps resetting to the damage phase before repair can fully activate.

Bottom Line

Bret Weinstein (Harvard PhD, evolutionary biologist) and Heather Heying just platformed the most pathetic cherry-picking of the NTP study and called it “remarkable science.” They took the wrong data (mice, higher doses, no clear cancer), ignored the right data (rats, phone-level doses, clear cancer at low end), ignored the 2026 EPA bombshell, and turned it into “cell phone radiation is good for you” content.

This isn’t skepticism. This is intellectual malpractice from people who should know better.

I lost my daughter in 1995 to a neural tube defect after wireless exposure during pregnancy. I’ve spent 30 years reading every table and mechanism so no other parent has to bury a child.

If Harvard-educated “independent thinkers” can’t read the rat tables, can’t see the low-dose peaks, can’t acknowledge the 200× too high conclusion, and instead push “radiation therapy for healthy people” cope… we cannot trust them on anything.

The data is black and white in the NTP reports. The 2026 paper is black and white. The mechanism papers are black and white.

Their spin is blood red.
