Why RF Safe Exists
From Grief to a 30-Year Mission
RF Safe was not started in a marketing office. It was born in a hospital room in 1995 when my firstborn daughter, Angel Leigh, died shortly after birth with a neural tube defect.
As an engineer who had been inside electronics since the 1980s, I could not ignore the emerging science linking electromagnetic fields to exactly the kind of developmental damage we were seeing. In 1998 I founded RF Safe with two simple promises:
- Warn families — especially pregnant women and children — about the real risks regulators were ignoring.
- Build practical tools that actually reduce exposure instead of just selling fear.
Nearly three decades later, that mission has grown into a complete roadmap: the science, the hardware, the policy failures, and the real long-term solution.
What “non-native EMF” really means We focus on man-made radiofrequency (RF) and extremely low frequency (ELF) fields from phones, Wi-Fi, towers, smart meters, and wiring — signals human biology never evolved to handle.
For years the official line was “if it doesn’t heat you, it can’t hurt you.” That claim is now contradicted by more than 4,000 peer-reviewed studies showing clear non-thermal biological effects: cancer patterns in animals, male infertility, immune changes, metabolic disruption, and real-time effects on blood cells.
The missing piece was a unifying biological mechanism. That mechanism is S4–Mito–Spin.

Policy Failures: Why the Law Is Still Stuck in the 1990s
The science moved forward. The law did not.
Section 704 of the 1996 Telecom Act Prevents local governments from denying cell-tower placements based on health or environmental effects if FCC limits are met. In practice: school boards and cities are legally gagged from fully protecting children.
Public Law 90-602 (1968 Electronic Product Radiation Control Act) Requires HHS to maintain an ongoing radiation-control program for all electronic products — including non-ionizing RF. That mandate has been largely ignored for RF since the 1990s.
FCC Remand & Clean Ether Roadmap A federal court already ruled the FCC’s handling of non-thermal evidence was inadequate. RF Safe’s position:
- Health oversight belongs with biology/medicine agencies, not the FCC
- Indoor environments should be designed low-RF by default
- RF reserved only for genuine mobility
The Light-Age: Wiring + Li-Fi Is the Real Endgame
The final goal is not better phone cases. It is a different physical layer.
From microwave rooms to light-based rooms
