Abstract

Overview

The increase in the use of mobile phones and wireless devices has heightened concerns regarding the potential health impacts of radiation. This study introduces a new decision-making algorithm designed to assess the biological effects of non-ionizing radiation based on ICNIRP guidelines and fuzzy logic.

Methodology

The algorithm incorporates optimal fuzzy rules and membership functions for effective fuzzy logic modeling, focusing on parameters like field strengths, frequency ranges, power densities, and exposure durations in 4G and 5G networks.

Applications

The algorithm facilitates rapid, straightforward, and reliable assessments of non-ionizing radiation risks, applicable to various social groups including residents, on-site workers, and professional users.

Significant Findings

  • Discussion of non-thermal effects of RF-EMF, highlighting diverse scientific conclusions.
  • Recognition of areas needing further research within high-frequency EMFs.

Conclusion

The study emphasizes the need for continued research into the health effects of 5G technologies, particularly non-thermal impacts that might become more evident as new data emerges over the next decade.
