Abstract

Overview

This study addresses a critical issue - the systematic decline in male fertility across the globe, attributed to various environmental factors. It aims to evaluate the impact of these factors on male reproductive health.

Findings

  • Various environmental factors including pollution and electromagnetic fields have been associated with adverse effects on male fertility.
  • Noteworthy substances such as heavy metals, tobacco smoke, and certain chemicals are identified for their negative impacts. However, the complete effects of electromagnetic fields are yet to be fully established.
  • The study makes use of data from comprehensive databases like PubMed, EMBASE, and Scopus, covering literature from 2015 to December 2023.

Conclusion

The findings highlight significant concerns about environmental quality and its broader implications on human health and reproduction. The endocrine disruptions caused by pollutants are pointed as a major cause of oxidative stress impacting male fertility.
