Case Report: The Microwave Syndrome after Installation of 5G Emphasizes the Need for Protection from Radiofrequency Radiation
Abstract
Abstract
Overview
In this case report, two individuals experienced severe health symptoms attributed to the installation of a 5G base station above their apartment.
Findings
- Subjects: A 63-year-old male and a 62-year-old female.
- Location: Apartment directly below a new 5G base station; previously only 3G/4G were present.
- Radiation Measurements: Substantial increase in RF radiation levels post-5G installation with peak measurements of up to >2,500,000 µW/m2.
- Symptoms Observed: Include neurological issues, tinnitus, fatigue, insomnia, emotional distress, skin disorders, and blood pressure variability—indicative of microwave syndrome.
- Improvement: Upon moving to an area with reduced RF radiation exposure, symptoms markedly decreased or disappeared.
Conclusion
This case underscores the insufficiency of current ICNIRP guidelines to safeguard health against non-thermal effects of RF radiation, illustrated by the non-thermal effects experienced by the subjects. Comprehensive health-based guidelines on RF exposure are urgently required.
