Abstract

Study Overview

The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of electromagnetic fields from mobile phones on BALB/c strain mice, focusing on health, body weight, behavior, and hematological parameters.

Experimental Design

Mice in the experimental groups were exposed to electromagnetic waves from Nokia 230 and Samsung 19300 Galaxy S III mobile phones, placed at 2 cm from the cages.

Key Findings

  • Exposure to mobile phone radiation influenced the brain's structure, behavior, and body weight of mice.
  • Increased activity and behavioral changes were noted.
  • Decreased body weight was observed.
  • Histopathological examination revealed mild edema in neutrophils and degeneration in neurons and glial cells.

Conclusion

The study conclusively shows the impactful influence of mobile phone radiation on the health and behavior of mice, underscoring potential health risks of electromagnetic fields.
