Abstract

Overview

We present a unique case concerning a 40-year-old Italian male with unusual tumor development.

Findings

  • A well-defined, encapsulated, hypoechoic lesion measuring 41 × 15 × 28 mm was observed within his left thigh muscle.
  • The lesion was situated precisely in the area where the patient habitually placed his smartphone, aligning with the SIM card location.
  • Ultrasound and MRI screenings revealed multiple vascularity foci and varying contrast enhancement indicating stiffness and deformability within the lesion.

Conclusion

The proximity of the tumor to the smartphone storage site could suggest a potential link to EMF exposure from the device. Further investigation on the impact of routine smartphone storage on soft tissues is warranted, particularly given the prevalence of such habits in modern lifestyle.
