Abstract

Overview

In recent decades, there has been a significant increase in applications using the electromagnetic environment daily, raising concerns over human exposure to electromagnetic fields (EMFs). The advent of technologies like 5G has further heightened these concerns, making it essential for authorities to monitor and validate the safety of these technologies.

Findings

  • The study employed the National Autonomous Broadband EMF Monitoring System for continuous monitoring throughout 2020 in Iasi-city.
  • Special emphasis was placed on data from December 2020.
  • Data was analyzed and compared to standards set by international and national regulatory bodies.

Conclusion

The monitored electromagnetic field levels from various RF-EMF sources were predominantly below the safety limits set by national legislation. Continuous monitoring and real-time assessments were emphasized as crucial for public reassurance and safety verification, particularly in the wake of new technologies like 5G.
