Electromagnetic Field Exposure in the Public Space of the Slovakian City
Abstract
Overview
The study focuses on assessing electromagnetic field exposure in frequented public spaces, specifically shopping centers in Bratislava, Slovakia, and comparing these levels with existing hygienic standards.
Findings
- Measurements were taken for low- and high-frequency electromagnetic fields at different locations within shopping centers.
- The observed electromagnetic field levels were within the current Slovak limits but exceeded proposed EUROPAEM standards.
Conclusion
The findings suggest a need for stricter electromagnetic exposure limits in Slovakia considering new international standards and emerging evidence on potential health impacts of long-term exposure. The study also recommends enhancing research and public education on this issue.
