Abstract

Overview

The rise of Far-field Wireless Power Transfer (FWPT) as a method to power Internet of Things (IoT) devices has led to increased scrutiny of Electromagnetic Radiation (EMR) safety. While most research focuses on enhancing remote charging efficiency, the potential health effects of EMR have garnered significant public attention.

Findings

  • Introduction of a theoretical calculation equation for EMR and a new concept called the Charging Restricted Area (CRA).
  • Optimization of charger power in a 2-dimensional plane to maximize charging power while keeping EMR below safety thresholds.
  • Formulation of the wireless charging EMR safety issue as a linear programming problem, which was simplified using the Sampling Safety Charging (SSC) algorithm.
  • Comparative experiments showed that the proposed SSC algorithm surpasses the ROSE algorithm in performance.

Conclusion
