Abstract

Overview

This research focuses on the impact of magnetic field treatments on sunflower seeds under varying moisture stress conditions with an objective to enhance crop growth and yield.

Findings

  • 200 mT magnetic exposure for 2 hours significantly enhanced leaf area index, shoot length, number of leaves, and other growth indicators compared to untreated seeds.
  • Magnetically treated seeds resulted in higher chlorophyll content, biomass, and seed yield.
  • Improvements were also noted in radiation use efficiency and water productivity.
  • Notably, the crop from magnetically treated seeds produced 6.2% more seed yield and had 7.1% higher protein and oil content.

Conclusion

Exposure of dry sunflower seeds to a static 200 mT magnetic field for 2 hours can effectively improve crop performance under various moisture conditions, illustrating significant potentials in agricultural enhancements through electromagnetic treatments.
