The standard

What “RF Safe Approved” actually means

Shielding fabric is only one part of the design. The finished case must reduce user-side exposure when used correctly without introducing obvious features that can obstruct the phone’s connection.

01

Directional—not total enclosure

The conductive layer belongs in the front cover, between you and the phone. The back remains open to the network.

02

Unobstructed antenna areas

A thin, antenna-aware layout avoids full wraps and bulky card stacks that can make a phone work harder to stay connected.

03

No metal loops or magnet plates

Decorative metal, detachable magnetic wallets, and mount plates do not belong beside a phone’s antenna system.

04

Shielded speaker aperture

Audio can pass through the cover without a large unshielded opening positioned beside the ear.

05

A shield you can verify

An accessible test point lets an ordinary continuity meter confirm the conductive path inside the front cover.

06

No false “99% everywhere” promise

Real exposure depends on orientation, signal conditions, distance, and use. Honest guidance is part of the product.

TruthCase standard

Could your “protective” case be working against you?

A phone automatically adjusts transmit power to maintain a connection. Features that interfere with its antennas can erase the benefit promised by a shielding swatch—and may increase output.

The physics in one sentence

Protect the person with correct placement; do not smother the radio.

No obvious design red flags selected

Keep the shield between your body and phone, preserve distance, and follow the maker’s use directions.

Open design · accountable approval

The standard is open. The approval is earned.

The RF Safe phone-case design is open source by intent: every manufacturer is welcome to copy these safety-first principles. The goal is a safer category—not a closed club. QuantaCase is the preferred source for authentic cases designed and approved by RF Safe against the complete standard.

Use is part of the design

A better case—and better habits

No case creates a radiation-free bubble. Direction and distance still matter.

1

During calls

Close the shielded front cover between the phone and your head. Speakerphone or a wired air-tube headset creates more distance.

2

During carry

Face the shielded cover toward your body. A bag is preferable to a pocket whenever practical.

3

At rest

Keep the phone away from your head and body. Use airplane mode when connectivity is not needed.
