I am a Senior RF Engineer who has worked for various cellular
and PCS companies designing the telecommunication towers and
rooftop configurations in 24 states. I no longer work for those
companies but even when I did, I was always concerned about
where I built these communications sites. Recently I was asked
to look at a rooftop configuration installed by a local carrier
in Sand Key. I did an on-site survey and found that the condo
that contacted me had no protection or warning from the antennas
on the roof. I quickly had the area put off limits and had signs
and barriers installed by the carrier the next day. I then
arranged a time to take RF Measurements with the carrier to
determine if the levels exceeded the FCC/OSHA rules and
regulations. They were barely within the allowable MPE limit. I
started to feel that there may be more condos, hotels and other
rooftops that may be also questionable. Sure enough I examined
several more and found that one exceeded the MPE!!!
I found that most building owners, or rooftop management
companies aren't aware of what is required or who to go to if
they feel their building might not be safe. I know that some
carriers are more concerned about the placement of these sites
and where the direction of the radiation of the antennas is and
then there are some who do just the minimum that they have to
skate by the rules to get that oh so important site on the air.
If you know of anyone who has this concern please let me know. I
offer a small fee to come to their building and complete a full
survey accessing the risks and possible problems with RF

Dear Mr. Coates,
Thank you for the knowledge that you have shared with the
general public and for your efforts in protecting humanity.
My mother died 18 years ago of breast cancer and all those times
I have been thinking that something in the "air" in the
environment must be causing these cancers. I have been thinking
that there must be these frequencies and we come in between them
and that these causes damage to our bodies.
I have been wondering why there were no researches on these
areas of radiation esp. from cell phones since these are used by
almost everyone even in developing countries and if there are,
why is it that it is not broadcasted or told to everyone
including school children so that they could avoid its damage.
I am well aware that it is part of business. But we don't want
to be sorry for all of humanity. We have to act now.
Thank you for the knowledge you shared in this website that
kids should never use
cellphones aside from emergencies. You see, i sometimes let
them use it to speak to relatives who want to talk with them on
the cellphones. Now, I can be more vigilant and let them talk
with their relatives over the landline. Also, I have long since
complained to my husband that when i frequently use my cellphone,
the ear that I use often seems "heavy" and there was I time it
would ache. Thanks to the knowledge that this cellphones really
contribute to the health hazards that humanity faces today.
I hope that you would be able to educate the public about the
hazards of EMFs and be able to convince them that a protective
shield that would really protect them is available in the
