waveguide technologyWaveguide technology is extensively used in beam-forming networks for satellite communications systems. A review of some techniques used in this field is provided in the special issue of MTT on Microwave in Space, while several theoretical issues are highlighted in. Most components needed cellular communication applications have been individually investigated. We are currently in research & development for personal wireless communications using wave guiding technologies.Think of it this way! If you turn on a light in a dark room the light goes everywhere and fills the room. Now, If you turn on a flash light you get a beam of light "a wave guided electromagnet wave" Open electromagnetic waveguidesThe theory of open waveguides plays a fundamental role in several microwave communication applications. In fact, most of antennas for mobile and personal communications are made by using microstrip antennas, which are examples of open waveguides. A thorough understanding of this theory allows to describe in a simple and efficient way to control a quite complex problem, such as how to control radiation from a cell phone.
