A phone mast plan has upset residents living around Adamsfield, Cheshunt.
Lisa Williams says she is worried about the mast which would be located near her house.
She raised her concerns with Broxbourne Borough Council, Charles Walker MP and Councillor David Lewis.
She told the Herald: "Firstly the telephone mast is extremely ugly, secondly there are health issues involved and finally it will be in totally the wrong place."
"It doesn't just affect one street, it affects about five streets right the way around.
"The rules stipulate that the mast must not be less than 250 metres from the local school. It is 250 metres away but I can still see the local playing fields. It is equivalent to putting it in a field and children are at risk because of radiation.
"I have leafleted 200 people in the area and am trying to drum up support in objecting to this mast."
A spokesperson for Broxbourne Borough Council said, "We have received a planning application for the phone mast. There is a consultation period until 26 October.
